Open app to install
Install DHDPlayer
Launch DHDPlayer, then use your browser’s install option.
Use Safari
- Launch DHDPlayer in Safari.
- Tap the Share button.
- Choose Add to Home Screen, then tap Add.
Use Chrome
- Launch DHDPlayer in Chrome.
- Tap Install app in the menu or install prompt.
- Confirm Install.
Use Chrome or Edge
- Launch DHDPlayer.
- Click the install icon in the address bar.
- Confirm Install to open it in its own window.
Install options vary by browser and operating system. If yours has no install option, bookmark dhdplayer.com/app/. Online sharing and Watch Rooms still need a connection.

Does DHDPlayer include movies or music?
No. Bring files you own or have permission to access. DHDPlayer helps you play, organize, and share your media; it is not a streaming subscription or a content catalog.
Do my friends need to install an app?
They can open a Watch Room invitation in a supported browser. Installation is optional. Everyone needs a connection, and the device providing the media must remain available.
Which devices and file formats work?
You can open the web app on desktop, tablet, or phone. Supported codecs and features vary by browser and operating system. Camera, screen sharing, and advanced playback options also depend on device support and permissions.
Can I use it offline?
An installed app can retain its interface for offline access. Actual playback depends on whether the media is available on your device and supported by your browser. Account features, remote media, and Watch Rooms require a network connection.
What happens when I share a file or a room?
The people you invite can access the content you share while its source is available. Treat invitations as access links and share them carefully. Camera and screen sharing require your permission in the browser.
What is DHDHost?
DHDHost is the companion connector for accessing media from a computer. It can provide your library and prepare compatible playback streams. You do not need it just to open the DHDPlayer web app.
